The two lost each other after Mufasa died. With the loss of his dad, Mufasa, his adventures take a new path, where he makes great new friends and later fight bravely for what’s his. Simba is a cheerful and feisty lion cub, the son of Mufasa and Sarabi, Scar’s nephew, Nala’s mate.

My kids like them and hope yours do, too. The kids still have a couple days left until their new school year starts, so I’ve made them some Lion King characters coloring pages, including images of Mufasa, Sarabi, Simba, Nala, Pumbaa, Timon, Rafiki and more.

Right after that, we watched the Lion King I (the original animation) and the Lion King II – Simba’s Pride at home again, and we had a really great movie day and night! While technology has made the 2019 release feel so real, watching the original animation did have something special, that’s hard to describe. It is a photorealistic computer animated remake of Disney’s traditionally animated 1994 film. I’ve just taken the kids to see the Lion King (2019 film) in the theater.
